Class test results

Class test results

This page allows you to view how your class/cohort/learning group has achieved on all the tests they have taken in a specific subject. It will show how the children are performing in tests over time and the Average and Difference columns allow you to view the changes in the children's scores and how they are scoring on average.

Once you have selected your class/cohort/learning group and the subject using the filters at the top of the page, you will see all of the test results for the children. If you have a mixed-age class, the tests for the different year groups will all appear:

The tests will be ordered from most recent to oldest but if you want to view them in order of when they were sat, click the 'Options' button and select 'Test columns past - recent'.

Any tests that you have added to Maestro and had the scores recorded will appear on this page, be that one of our summative end of term reading, SPaG and maths tests, White Rose Maths end of block mini-assessments, our end of projects quizzes/assessments, or another test that your school has added to Maestro so that the scores can be kept within Maestro. If the test scores haven't been added, the tests will not appear.

The names, dates of the tests, and the academic year they were taken will be listed at the top of each test column. If you click on the date, you can view the details for that specific test.

Above the names of the tests, there may be a Standardised label if we have had enough results to create standardised scores for that test. There will be two different types of labels:
  1. Standardised: this label will appear for tests that we have been able to create a set of standardised scores for that can be added to each child's total raw score. These could be calculated standardised scores or age-calculated standardised scores based on the term that child was born in.
  2. School standardised: this label will appear for tests where schools have added their own standardised scores. These usually won't be Cornerstones tests but other makes of tests.

If a test has one of these labels, you can use the tick boxes next to them to select two tests. This will then allow you to measure the progress the children have made between these two tests based on their standardised scores.

Alert
When selecting test scores for comparison, we always recommend using the same type of standardised scores to get the most accurate comparisons - for example - both tests have calculated scores or both having age-standardised scores

The results for each test will then be analysed and combined average percentage scores for both the tests will be shown for each child. The 'Difference' column will show the progress each child has achieved between the tests by looking at the standardised score for each test and showing when the children have a higher standardised score in the latest test or a lower standardised score using + and - scores.

If you have a mixed-age class, all of the tests for the different year groups will be shown for that subject. You can click on the Year group filter to sort the children into their year groups to make analysis easier; You can also do this by making learning groups for each of your year groups and selecting those in the 'Class/group' filter at the top of the page.

You will also be able to clearly see any children who have taken the tests from a different year group and how they have achieved in relation to that test and year group.
