Use the filters along the top of the page to select the
term, class, and subject of the test. If the class has taken more than one test for the chosen subject and term, a drop-down menu will then appear to allow
you to choose the test you want to analyse. You can only choose to analyse one test at a time.
If there haven't been any tests have been recorded for that subject/cohort/term,
you will get a message suggesting where you may want to look instead, based on
the data you have already entered into Maestro.
Once the test is selected, the analysis information will
then be displayed. It will always begin with an overview for the entire class/cohort.
To get a quick overview of the percentage of children who look
to be on track to meet the expected standard, click the ‘Simple’ button in the
top right corner to change the view.
The ‘Detailed’ option will show the percentages of children who achieved our different assessment bandings.
We have included a further breakdown of different groups of
children to help you analyse the results in more detail. This includes a group breakdown
for Pupil premium children, children with SEND, EAL children, as well as by gender.
If you have created them, another option is to view your children by their learning
groups rather than by class/cohort. This is particularly useful if you have a mixed-age class. Just select the
relevant learning groups in the ‘Select classes or groups’ box at the top of
the page. This will allow you to see how the different groups have achieved in the
test if you want to focus on them as well as all the children combined:
You can also analyse results from other tests on Maestro
such as the White Rose Maths end of unit tests, the assessments and quizzes from
the Express stage of the Cornerstones projects, or any test that you have
created yourself.
As these tests haven’t been standardised, the analysis
charts will group the children by their raw score so that you can see how successful
the children have been. They will be grouped together by the quintile each
child achieved.
