School resources

Maestro now enables you to upload your own documents and lesson resources so that they can be quickly downloaded from the lessons they are attached to.

Uploading resources into the School resources

To upload resources into Maestro, you will first need to upload the resource into the School resources section on the sidebar menu. This area will be where all resources that your school uploads will be housed. Resources can be grouped into specific folders as required.

To create a folder, click on either the 'Creating a folder' link or the folder icon near the top left corner and clicking 'Create folder'.

After clicking to create a folder, you can give the folder a name and add a description (if required). You can give the folder a thumbnail by searching for an image that is already saved to your computer, however this isn't a requirement. Click 'Save'.

All of the folders created will be visible to all users in the school and can be accessed by any staff member on the school's Maestro account . To edit the folders in any way, click on the edit button for that folder.

To upload a file, you can simply drag and drop your files into the folder you have just created. Alternatively, you can click on the folder you want to upload resources into. Click the 'Upload a file here' link.

When the next screen appears, select 'Browse' and choose the file you want to upload. A title will be automatically created from the file name but this can be edited as required. Add a description and a thumbnail if you wish to (a thumbnail is generated automatically for PDF files). Then click 'Save'.

Linking resources to specific lessons

To link one of the resources to one of the lessons in Maestro (this could be a Cornerstones activity or one you have created yourself), go into the project and find the relevant lesson. Go to the 'School adaptations' and click 'Add notes'. Click on the attachments button (circled below) and click 'Choose file'.

You can use the filters at the top to select 'School', which are folders and resources your school has uploaded, 'Cornerstones', which are folders and resources provided by Cornerstones or 'All' to view both school and Cornerstones resources together. You can also search by the document's name in the 'Search file' box. Click on the folder title and select the document you wish to add to the lesson. Click 'OK'.

Click 'Save' at the bottom of the school adaptations box to save the resource to that lesson. Refresh the page you are on. You can then click on the title of the resource and it will download, ready for you to use in your downloads folder. It will also let you know who uploaded the file to the lesson underneath.
