Planning using My lessons

Planning using My lessons

Find My lessons under Plan and assess in the sidebar menu. You can plan, teach, review, create or delete lessons from here. It is useful to see all your lessons at a glance, which lessons have been assessed and which are still to be completed. All lessons appear in both My lessons and your Timetable. Read more about Planning using the timetable.

Editing and assessing planned lessons

Use the filters at the top of the page to choose a week or a range of dates.

To edit or assess a planned lesson, click on the settings icon next to the relevant lesson and select the relevant option from the menu:
  1. Plan - enables you to edit the lesson content, such as your teaching notes, class, and objectives.
  2. Copy - creates a copy of the lesson with the same objectives and teaching notes for you to edit and teach again.
  3. Delete - will remove the lesson from your planned lessons

Next to the settings icon will be another button. You will either see:
  1. Lesson - takes you to the lesson information page with the Lesson/Coverage/Attainments
  2. Taught - takes you to the lesson's attainment area to record attainments.

Creating new lessons

To create a new lesson:

  2. Select the lesson type at the top of the 'Plan your lesson' box.
    1. Project activity - enables you to choose any lesson from any of our projects, even if they are not added to your curriculum.
    2. Selected objectives - enables you to plan your own lessons, using our skills and knowledge framework.
  3. Select the required time and date from the calendar.

  9. Click 'Create'.
The lesson will then appear in your list of lessons and be added to your timetable.

Viewing and copying colleagues' lessons

It is possible to view colleagues' lessons in order to create copies, view their lesson attainments or complete the attainments for one of their lessons yourself. Use the filters at the top of the page to choose a week or a range of dates and select the user whose timetable you wish to view. If you click on the settings icon next to the lesson:
  1. You can 'Copy' or 'View' a lesson planned in the future.
  2. You can 'Copy' a lesson that has not yet been taught by your colleague. Clicking 'Copy' will allow you to edit then teach your own version of the lesson. Clicking 'Taught' will allow you to complete the lesson attainments.
  3. You can 'Copy' or 'Review' a lesson that has been taught by your colleague. Clicking 'Copy' will allow you to edit then teach your own version of the lesson, clicking 'Review' will show you their attainments and give you the option to copy the lesson without any edits.

When you create a copy of a lesson, you can edit the title, class, objectives and add your own lesson notes prior to teaching. Any copied lessons will appear in your list of lessons and be added to your timetable.

IdeaTip: You can also use the search box in the top right corner to search for specific people, lessons or subjects.
