Deleting templates and reports

Deleting templates and reports

If you created a template or reports in error or just need to start again, this article will help you remove any unwanted reports. Several safety protocols have been put in place to ensure that reports and templates are not accidentally deleted from Maestro so there are a series of steps to follow.

Deleting templates and reports

If you need to delete a template for any reason, go to Pupils reports > Templates, click on the settings icon and select 'Delete'.

If you haven’t generated any reports yet, you will just need to confirm that you want to delete the template:

If the reports have been generated but teachers have started to edit them yet, you will see this warning:

If the reports have started to be edited, you will not be able to delete them all in one go. Instead, you will see this warning:

First, you will need to delete the generated but unedited reports by clicking on the ‘Pending’ total:

You will then have the option to 'Delete all pending (unedited) reports':

For the remaining reports that have been edited by the teacher, you will need to click on the ‘Updated’ total:

These edited reports will then need to be deleted individually by clicking on the settings icon and selecting Delete:

Finally, go back to Pupil reports and click on the settings icon to delete the template.

Warning
If reports have been 'published', you will need to ask your Maestro admin in school to 'Unpublish' the reports before they can be deleted.
