Class plan details (Long/medium term plans)

Class plan details (Long/medium term plans)

Class plan details can be shared with parents and published online. They give an overview of the different aspects of each subject covered by the projects that you have chosen. Teachers can embellish their own class plan and, if a plan is being shared by a class, can create their own copy.

Editing plan details

Teachers can access their class plans by going to Plan and assess > Class plans > Class plan details. (If you are using cycles, you will need to select a cycle and class plan).

The plan will be populated with Cornerstones' default content. The projects should be in the order in which they are being taught across the top, and the subjects and other headings down the left.

AlertIf the projects are not in the correct order, go to Class plans to drag them into the correct order.

Teachers can edit the default content to reflect their teaching by typing in each of the boxes.

  1. Move rows - Click and drag the crossed arrows by a row title to move it higher or lower.
  2. Delete rows - Click on the 'X' button to delete a row.
  3. Add rows - Click the 'Add row' button to add your own row.

AlertAlways press the Save button after making changes to any plan details.

Creating a copy of a plan

  1. Where two classes use the same plan (containing the same projects), a copy can be made so that each teacher can edit and save their own plan.
  2. Open the class plan you want to copy.
  3. Click 'Options' > 'Copy plan'.
  4. Create a title e.g. Class 4b.
  5. Click 'Copy'.
  6. Go to Class plans.
  7. Next to the plan you have just created, click 'Add/remove classes'.
  8. Select the class.
  9. Click 'Save'.
  10. Your class plan can now be edited.
Warning
These steps will need to be completed by a member of staff who has Maestro Administrator/SLT access.

Restoring a backup of a plan

Every time a plan is saved, a copy is stored that can be retrieved if a problem ever occurs with a plan.

  1. Open the current plan for the class that you want to restore on the Class plan details page.
  2. Click 'Options' > 'Restore from a previous save or backup'.
  3. Use the dropdown box to view all previously saved versions and the user that saved each one.
  4. Select a plan to restore.
  5. Click 'Restore backup'.
  6. Click 'Yes' to confirm the restore.
  7. Once you have checked the restored version and it is the one you want, click 'Save'.

AlertThe restored version (and any changes that you make) must be saved in order to complete the restore.

Class plans can be downloaded and printed to be added to your own website or shared internally.
  1. Open the plan for the class that you want to print/download.
  2. Click 'Options'.
  3. Select either As tableGrouped by project or Grouped by row to preview or download any of these versions. You can then Print or save your plan.
